Healing Starts Here

Compassionate respite and personalized care for veterans, first responders, and women in need.

A diverse small group of veterans and first responders in casual clothing seated in a calm, sunlit counseling room. A Black woman therapist in her 40s sits with an open notebook, listening attentively as a Latino veteran speaks, while a white male firefighter and an Asian American EMT nod supportively. The space feels warm and professional, with soft neutral colors, plants, and minimal decor. The overall mood is hopeful, grounded, and reassuring, with no uniforms, weapons, or visible injuries.

Our Mission

Time Choices Inc. offers community-based mental health respite to empower independence.

Programs and Services

A cozy community living room in a mental health respite home, where a mixed group of veterans and first responders sit together on comfortable sofas and chairs. A middle-aged Black veteran gently laughs with a younger white woman paramedic, while an older Asian American veteran listens with a relaxed smile. A peer support facilitator, a Latina in her 30s, sits in the circle with a notebook, creating a sense of equality. Warm lamplight, houseplants, and simple art make the space feel like a real home, not a clinic, and the overall mood is calm, connected, and hopeful.

We provide counseling, respite care, and tailored supports to empower guests to heal and regain independence.

The exterior of a small, welcoming community house used for mental health respite for veterans and first responders, located in a quiet Suffolk County neighborhood. A diverse family group walks up the front path together: a middle-aged Black veteran, a Latina first responder, and an older white couple who could be parents. The house has a simple porch with a bench, potted plants, and a discreet sign reading "Time Choices Respite" near the door. Late afternoon light and fall foliage add warmth and calm. No ambulances, uniforms, or emergency imagery—just a safe, homelike place to arrive.

We offer trauma-informed care, peer support, and family involvement to strengthen well-being.

“Grateful and helped.”
